Basic Food

Basic Food (Staple)

Category: Theme

The vast, vast majority of soosh are born from various kinds of food and drink around the world.

This trait includes...

  • Real world food/drink
  • Imagined food/drink using real world ingredients
  • Fictional foods that could exist in the real world

Because many food and drink items can be created using different recipes and techniques, there could be more than one in existence. It is not necessary to ensure your basic food themed soosh has a unique name for its concept, so long as it looks distinct from other soosh!

Any foods/drinks that include names or images legally protected words or symbols will be classed as specialty food instead and cannot be used without express permission. In most cases, you can get around that limitation by using a more generic name!

Standard

Standard (Staple)

Category: Build

A normal-sized soosh. This size is roughly equal to a piece of sushi, which is how they gained their nickname Sushi Dogs!

Bihead

Bihead (Staple)

Category: Build

Sometimes referred to as "Orthrus" soosh, in reference to the two-headed dog of Greek mythology. Soosh with this body type have two heads with two distinct personalities. They tend to be slightly larger than a standard soosh since their body needs to accommodate a second head.

Trihead

Trihead (Staple)

Category: Build

Sometimes referred to as "Cerberus" soosh, in reference to the three-headed dog of Greek mythology. This is a three-headed soosh with three distinct personalities. Trihead soosh are significantly larger than standard and bihead soosh, in order to accommodate their third head.

Diptych

Diptych (Staple)

Category: Build

This is a soosh that began as a Standard, but split itself into two smaller forms. Both bodies retain the original personality, and count as one soosh. A diptych's two bodies are each about 1/2 the size of a standard soosh.

Triptych

Triptych (Staple)

Category: Build

This is a soosh that began as a Standard, but split itself into three smaller forms. All three bodies retain the original personality, and count as one soosh. A triptych's three bodies are each about 1/3 the size of a standard soosh.

Perky Ears

Perky Ears (Staple)

Category: Ears

Perky ears (usually) stand upright and alert! Perky ears should be situated towards the sides of the head (unless combined with foxy ears), tipped in a gently rounded point (unless combined with round ears or tufted ear tips), and no taller than one half the height of the head (unless combined with large ears).

(Merged trait: side ears)

*To use two different ear types (ex. perky and floppy, floppy and lop, etc.) it would fall under the Mismatched Ears trait!

Floppy Ears

Floppy Ears (Staple)

Category: Ears

Floppy ears fold forward, either completely or only slightly. Floppy ears should be situated towards the sides of the head (unless combined with foxy ears), tipped in a gently rounded point (unless combined with round ears or tufted ear tips), and no taller than one half the height of the head (unless combined with large ears).

(Merged trait: folded ears)

*To use two different ear types (ex. perky and floppy, floppy and lop, etc.) it would fall under the Mismatched Ears trait!

Lop Ears

Lop Ears (Staple)

Category: Ears

Lop ears hang on the sides of the head (contrast with floppy ears, which fold forward!). Lop ears should be situated towards the sides of the head (always), tipped in a gently rounded point (unless combined with tufted ear tips), and no longer than past the chin (unless combined with large ears or mega lop ears). Lop ears do not have any structure in them and thus should always appear completely limp.

*To use two different ear types (ex. perky and floppy, floppy and lop, etc.) it would fall under the Mismatched Ears trait!

Mismatched Ears (Staple)

Category: Ears

Mismatched ears are the use of two Staple ear traits. If one ear is Perky, and one ear is Floppy, you would use this trait instead! Any combination of Staple ear types works for this trait, and you can still add Gourmet upgrades (ex. Round Ears, Tufted Ear Tips, etc.) if desired.

Round Cheeks

Round Cheeks (Staple)

Category: Cheek Pouches

Default cheek shapes are always a full circle or oval. If a soosh has small freckles or beauty marks, they can "bleed" onto the cheek pouches, but they should not be only on the cheek pouches.

One-Color Cheeks

One-Color Cheeks (Staple)

Category: Cheek Pouches

One-color cheeks are always one solid color across both cheeks. A soosh with small freckles or beauty marks can "bleed" onto the cheek pouches, but they should not be only on the cheek pouches or take up a large portion of the cheeks.

Small Bandana

Small Bandana (Staple)

Category: Bandana

Small bandanas are generally no larger than the soosh's head, give or take (there's a bit of leeway here, just don't go too crazy!), and can be worn on just about any part of the body--usually around the neck.

Trait tait can be stacked with any other bandana trait except large bandana and obi bandana (unless the soosh has more than one bandana).

Small bandanas are worn in many different styles--check the masterlist for more examples and inspiration!

*Note that bandana traits must ALWAYS be stacked with a knot trait!

Simple Knot

Simple Knot (Staple)

Category: Bandana

Simple knots are tied in an overhand knot, basic bowtie, or ribboned knot. Simple knots/bows should be no larger than depicted in the size reference posted below, and for ribboned knots, the "tails" should be no longer than the size of the bow itself.

Fur Tail

Fur Tail (Staple)

Category: Tail

A cute, furry tail! The fur texture can be fluffy, curly, poofy, or however you'd like--or they can be hairless! Generally, fur tails can be shaped to look like just about any mamallian animal, but the length of the fur should be consistent across the entire tail length (ex. fur tails cannot be short with a longer tuft at the tip--that would make it an impish tail instead).

*Note: if a soosh has no tail, it is considered a fur tail!

Wispy Tail (Staple)

Category: Tail

A cute, fluffy, and cloudy tail! The texture is considered light and like a cloud! They tend to flow with the wind and vary in shapes whenever a soosh is seen, but they always generally have the same length across the entire tail.
