Sushi Dog Food: Cheesy Ravioli
Story of Food: Ravioli has long since been one of my favorite comfort foods for me. I used to eat canned ravioli very frequently as a child, and have eaten it in other forms (frozen, restaurants, and more) even more as I’ve grown up and gone through the trials of school and growing up to becoming an adult. It’s a simple pre-made food to prepare and eat, good for when I’ve been unable to move or eat much during bad bouts of depression or when I’m having to watch my little brothers and am too busy to try and cook something else for them. It’s one of the few foods I can make, as my cooking skills are more centered around baking than actually cooking and I get to feel proud of myself for being able to cook for myself! My mother has always made amazing ravioli and it makes me happy, and even my dear partner makes it wonderfully as well, you can taste the care they put into it. Ravioli also has so much potential! It can have cheese, meat, veggies, all sorts of things inside it! And of course have any sauce you desire on top! I once had a spinach ravioli from this fancy restaurant. It was really good but I was disappointed when my plate was brought out and it was just one big ravioli instead of several normal sized ones. Plus it was only about 4 or 5 bites big, so I was a bit bummed out but I was feeling unwell mentally that day so it could’ve just been my bad mood affecting how I thought about it. It also was an example of how you can make ravioli look very cool though! As it was green and cream colored in a striped pattern which I had thought was very pretty. All in all, I associate ravioli with warmth and comfort, love and caring, it’s a comfort food that I’ll hold closely with me throughout my whole life.
