Sushi Dog Food: Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
Story of Food: Peanut Butter and Jelly was something that comforted me as I grew up, and still does now. When I first started elementary school, I hated the tastes and textures of the school provided lunches in my mouth. They were really gross, and it would ruin the rest of my day at school. So, my mom decided to start packing my lunches for school! She would always make me peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, specifically with strawberry jelly! The sandwiches were something simple and tasty, and the textures weren’t an issue. Strawberries are also my favorite fruit, so that’s why I only ate my pb&j with strawberry jelly/jam… any other kind would make me upset as well, I was very picky.
Middle school and Highschool got tougher for me, so being able to have a pb&j made school easier to deal with when I ate it for lunch. I have fond memories of sitting in my Spanish teacher’s classroom for lunch. I hated the noise and crowdedness of our lunchroom, and my teacher was kind enough to offer me a space where I was comfortable. I even had my friends join me a few times, and I got to work on my homework there as well.
During highschool I decided to do homeschooling, so I got to make myself a pb&j sandwich whenever I wanted one! To me, that was the best thing in the world.
Overall pb&j is something I have fond memories with, it got me through a lot, so that is why I chose this as the theme for my Sushidog!
