The Summer Starlight Festival is now in its second half!

Here are the grand prizes for the two teams:

1st Place will win their respective Team Soosh prize + a Seasonal Trait!
2nd Place will win a Mesmerizing Mirror to create their own Mersoosh + a Seasonal Trait!

You're able to purchase tickets in the Holiday Shoppe for the other team... at a cost.
It's only fair that these Sooshes seem to want to go home to a strong fighter for their team!

Second Goal Hit!
We hit 55,000 Ocean Splashers earned on-site right when August began. Wow!
Since you guys are strong and have achieved another crazy goal, there are now 5 more Breathless Depths boxes and a Summer Starlight Box for free in the Holiday Shoppe!
Pick them up for some goodies due to your valiant efforts.

Festival Extravangza Send-Off
What's that? We're celebrating the end of the festival extra hard with limited-time happenings?
We have new prompts and game nights throughout all month for the festival send-off!
Keep your eyes peeled as stuff will be happening constantly.
This is just a celebration, so don't stress about it affecting your team's score - you'll earn some Cookies instead to treat yourself!

ReturnSite Updates
Character Folders Added!
These are folders to sort your Sooshes in, so now you can have some nice organization for your character list!
Simply go to My Stuff > Characters to begin creating folders and sorting them!
We believe the folder sorting (aka what goes above the other) is based on your character sorting, so feel free to play around with resorting your Sooshes and folders!
It is also linkable, so you can create folders intended to show off or for easy access to trades/offers.

As a reminder, SotM entries are due the second-to-last day of the Month. This is to ensure ample time to approve and raffle the SotM winner and contact them in time to begin the next month with their Soosh of choice.
This month, SotM entries are due on August 30th.

New Guest Artists Join the Team!

We considered many applications, and we found that these four community members were the best fit for our small needs to liven up the GA team. We loved their style, design abilities, and their passion for the community, so this is a very thrilling set of artists to join us.
We hope everyone is just as excited to have them join the team as we have been.
Congratulations to them once again!
Prompt Clarifications
These are some questions we have had recently, so we wanted to include these to make sure the community is also up-to-date with this info!
Character Codes Required for Prompt Submissions
As we continue to grow, we have decided to enforce Character Codes to be linked in prompt submissions.
This is under Characters > Add Character in prompt submissions. Then, you must add the code for the appropriate Soosh(es) included in the prompt. It does not require the food! Just the letters and numbers at the beginning of the Soosh's masterlist entry, and the code at the end of masterlist entry URLs.
This is just to ensure the Sooshes are valid at a quick glance for the mod team behind approvals.
Awakened Forms Must Be Approved to Use in Site Prompts
This is just to make sure any Awakened Forms used in prompts are valid characters, similar to how we would not accept unapproved Sooshes for site use. Awakened Forms are free to create!
Be sure to read the Design Update Guide to learn how to submit these.
Gift Art Needs to Reach the Giftee!
If you are drawing another user's Soosh, please ensure to send it to the owner. Otherwise, it isn't really a gift!
If you need help finding the owner (i.e. their site alias is inactive) feel free to ask in the discord for help on locating them. Or you can send a ModMail ticket to see if we can send the art to the owner ourselves.

Masterlist Clarifications
We have a few clarifications we would like to make regarding the masterlist as some of these were easy to miss!
Masterlist Art Thumbnails
You MUST use the thumbnail cropper, please do not turn it off! This allows thumbnails for Sooshes to all be uniform and same-sized.
Please also zoom out fully - do not zoom in on any part of your Soosh. We want the thumbnails to show off as much of the design as possible!
Masterlist Art must be Standalone (no headshots/alternate art/backgrounds/etc.)
The only exception is if you use a trait that can turn on or off like: Glowy Cheeks or Bioluminescence
Otherwise, we will reject the submission!
Masterlist art must be the Soosh by itself on a transparent or white background. Do not include zoom-ins, clothing refs, background colors, etc.. We want the masterlist entries to be clear and easy to understand.
You are always free to create reference sheets to link users for off-site use, but for our masterlist we need clear shots of a Soosh's design.
Mersooshes Cannot be Created During MYO Approval
This is just a quirk of how the Transformations extension works! It does not allow for two images to be approved at once (which is how the extension works).
You just have to submit the main form as a MYO on its own, and then Design Update it after the MYO is approved. It's the only way it can work!

Coming Up Next
🐾 The Celebration Pawty begins! 🎊
That's right: the Anniversary Event got rebranded!
The main reason?
Sushi Dog's anniversary actually lands in August! We just have it overrun by the Summer Starlight Festival - oops!
You may see some changes around the site as we set up for the pawty! But no worries, it'll still be the same.
You will still be able to make a free Soosh in the ANN (soon to be PAW) category. As usual, there will be some for-fun prompts to get some Cookies and more!
We'll kick off with a fun sale on the first day, so look forward to it!
