Sushi Dog Food: Snowman Cookie
Story of Food: I decided to make this Soosh for this event as it was something I have wanted to do for a long time and it was a simple enough design. When I was younger my family used to always make Snowman Cookies in the winter, or whenever we got close to Christmas, we would make them! It was a long running family tradition to make your snowman cookie and then decorate your snowman. Whoever made the best snowman won and they got a special gift. Usually it was a gift card, but one year they even did an iPod touch. It was awesome, I really miss those days and I hope that I can continue this tradition in my family when I have my own :)
The snowman cookies were then left out for Santa, and my parents always told us that the snowmen would come to life at night and would help santa get down the chimney. Santa would even sometimes leave behind a ginger bread house for them to live in, as a thank you. We always felt too bad to eat the cookies afterwards, because we thought they were sentient, and we didn't want to hurt them lol. This isn't the only holiday we would do this for! We also did this for Easter and Halloween and sometimes even Valentines. They were always meant to be helpers for the Easter Bunny, Santa, The Pumpkin People (this is another story in and of itself so I'm not going to even get started on this)
Regardless, the Snowmen cookies are really near and dear to my heart, so I'm glad I chose this soosh to be one bound to my account forever :)

Sushi Dog Food: Banana Split with Sprinkles
Story of Food: For this event I went with a classic cold treat. A banana split with the works! Sprinkles, caramel, and cherries galore! When I was younger, my dad would take me to get this sweet treat at our local shop. Even on the hottest of days we would grab one and try to eat them up before they melted. It was a rare event but one I remember fondly. We would get one each, sit at one of the tables and enjoy the treat. Sometimes we would talk but the silence was comfortable. He was not a man of many words. It was one of those rare times that life felt normal and things weren’t chaotic. I have not had one since then, maybe that will change now. There isn’t much to my food story but it’s one of the few moments I happily look back at.
I struggled a lot with my design, I really wanted to incorporate bananas but I disliked everything I did. Haha So I used the color palette to help sell the theme. Much like the banana split she is sweet and simple. Savory and one that you can make memories with. I tried to give her a more childish and innocent demeanor because of where I was in life when getting the sweet treat.
And thank you for hosting this event! It made me think a lot about all the foods I would make with my dad when he was alive, he loved having me cook with him. I now want to try recreating them again! ♥

Sushi Dog Food: Soft Brown Sugar Pretzel

Story of Food: So me and soft pretzels go way back; These were the things I looked forward to when 6-7 year old me knew we were going to the mall. I mean c’mon going shopping at that age was boring as heck!! So my mom would get me some if I behaved and didn't use the clothing rack as a cave.. Everytime I would enter the mall the smell would hit me and I just got so excited because the taste of the brown sugar was soo good and they were so warm (was better with a Coke Slushie). I would get the big one usually but if my mom didn't want to wait for me to finish (because that one would drop sugar) she would get me the bites which were smaller. Everytime I think about Wetzles Pretzels the memory is linked with fun times of my childhood; I haven't had any in a long time and when this came up (The anniversary) the first thing that came to my mind was Wetzles; kinda wish I could get some right now as I type this because just remembering it is everything! Now I get 'em with friends while we do our shenanigans' at the mall and now I have new memories with em. I like the new memories I have with my friends and the Wetzles Pretzel place because now is not just about the pretzel now I remember about how my friend fell once and lost all his pretzel bites and he just stared at them with a blank face. By the way he was fine, he got more and all was good. C:

Sushi Dog Food: Rainbow Popping Boba
Story of Food:
Popping Boba in Tea drinks, I didn't know what it was when I first heard about it and wonder what it was all about. The first time I saw it was when I was on a trip with my mom in Seoul, South Korea, I had thought about trying one but decided not to at that time. I eventually found out what the Boba was made out of and I'm not really a fan of tapioca at all. Yet despite knowing that the balls were made of tapioca, I was still curious of the drinks and still wanted to try it at some point of my life. So I decides to make my own version and It was a fun project to do. I made a Matcha Milk Tea flavored one with my own homemade Popping Boba balls that were strawberry flavored. It was really fun to make and a tasty drink to have. I definitely will be making that drink again sometime and just maybe with a different flavor of drink or attempt to make Rainbow Boba. Like what these two Soosh pups are based off, I hope to make it real one day. Who knew that I would like Boba drinks so much and the fun of making my own was a joyful time. Sometimes when you think you really might not like something all that much, it can become your next favorite thing for a while. I am glad I have finally tried a drink with Popping Boba, I hope to try and make more of my own in the future. Popping Boba now means a lot to me cause of have the fun experience of making my own and trying something new, even if it's something that has been popular for a long while.

Sushi Dog Food: Orange Creamsicle Soft Serve
Story of Food: Ice cream is always a fan favorite of mine. At a young age, I learned that orange creamsicle was the best popsicle out there. The popsicle version is not a bad choice, but does not give enough of the cream or vanilla balance. It took roughly ten years of my life to learn that it was an option at the Boardwalk (on the beach) as soft serve as well as the popsicle version. After ordering, vanilla dipped in chocolate or other common flavors it was time to try something new. It is a perfect blend of cream and orange with the flavor combination. To learn that this was an option for a soft serve flavor, a flavor that I deemed as a summer memory made it the best feeling in the world on a hot summer day or evening. The sweetness of the vanilla ice cream swirled in the slightly tart orange flavors always bring a joy to me as the tart and sweet mix perfectly. The brightness of the orange reminds me of summer because it is also refreshing on top of the tartness and sweetness. The best part of this treat is that is comes in a cone - usually a cake cone which is the superior type of cone. Waffle cones can work, but there is a classic feeling with cake cones. There is no substitute to this soft serve as it is a preferred flavor, it may be partly due to the flavor being more common in the summer.
