Sushi Dog Food: Lemon Ice Tea Energy Drink
Story of Food:
I’ve lived off energy drinks for most of my life, I basically rely on them to do anything or get myself out of bed for work. Lemon Ice Tea has always been my favourite flavour as I’ve got a serious sweet/sour tooth and love anything with a nice after taste! I have the most memories of the lemon flavour because the drink is no longer sold in the UK so the only time or place I could find it is when I visit the seaside with my friends, some of the stores there stock the drink so I make sure to buy as much as I can and stuff my bag full of them, it does make walking around and going to the beach a tad awkward when you’ve got a bag full of cans and on the odd occasion one or two cans will explode and cover my entire bag with energy drink but I like to think the drink has some good memories that remind me of my friends and going to the beach. Though it seems like the flavour won’t be in the UK anytime soon I can always ask my buddies from the US to send me some if I ever get that desperate for some lemon ice tea, seems like they get all sorts of cool and unique flavours over in the US but I always just ask for lemon, that or I could just drink regular ice tea but where is the fun in that? ^^

Sushi Dog Food: Mom's Lasagna
Story of Food: One of my favorite foods is lasagna, specifically my mother's lasagna. It's one of those dishes that has had a place in my heart since I was pretty young. Growing up I always looked forward to whenever my mother would make it, especially since she didn't make it that often. Every time my mother told me that we were getting the ingredients to make it, it would brighten up my day and make me look forward for later on in the day. To this day it still brightens up my day when she tells me she's getting the ingredients and is planning on making it. One time she had make it for me is when my birthday had came around, I've never been a big fan of cake and my mother knew this so instead of giving me a cake she'd make my favorite food. Ever since the first time she had done that it has become a common thing each time my birthday comes around to make a lasagna instead of a cake, and it's something that makes me look forward to my birthday every year. Sometimes even my aunt would ask my mother to make it for her birthday too, my mother wouldn't always make it for her given that December is birthday hell month in our family. For the longest time I would refuse to eat anyone else's version of the dish, they could never match up to the way my mother would make it. Though I eventually warmed up to eating different versions of it, there's still nothing better then the one I grew up eating. I don't think there will ever be a food that can take over the place in my heart the way that lasagna does.

Sushi Dog Food: Matcha and red bean shave ice
Story of Food:
Shave ice is my number one summer snack. Especially kakigori style shave ice, which is finely shaved ice usually topped with a sweet or flavored syrup, and any kind of fruit jelly or topping (such as heavy cream or coconut milk) you can think of! I eat a bunch of different kinds over the course of summer like strawberry, tigers blood, blueberry, multi flavor, even things like strawberry shortcake and vanilla. The shave ice possibilities are literally endless ! On top of being so cold it cools you down- it’s also pretty inexpensive! You can buy your very own machine to do it at home any time you like, all you need is ice and the flavoring you want as well as the machine itself. (A lot of these machines are super cute too) Personally I’d love to have my own machine just to eat crunchy thin ice without toppings because I love crunching on ice to stim ^^;;;
The story of the best kind I EVER had was in Hawaii a long time ago on holiday, it was matcha drizzled red bean topped heaven- heck it was probably what jump started my intense fixation on matcha flavored things but it tasted even sweeter because it was insanely muggy and hot out! After that I was much more willing to eat different foods and such than I already was- I LOVE food! Over the course of that trip I was much more emboldened to eat any new thing I saw because of that delicious summertime desert.

Sushi Dog Food: Sakura Mochi
Story of Food:
A Sweet Anko middle, a perfectly salty sakura flower, a slightly bitter leaf and a sticky sweet blanket of mochi. The delicious Sakura mochi, not only is it my favorite snack/dessert but a reminder of a fear I conquered.
Every since I was little I’ve had a very hard time speaking to others but especially when it came to asking for something I wanted , like ordering. Till I was about 13 I would ask my little brother or my mom to order everything. Even if I knew I wanted something I couldn’t ask for it. So my mom decided to push me a little. We went to a fancy Japanese Mochi and Wagashi store. My mom said she would buy whatever I wanted but I had to order. Of course being nervous and being horrible at choosing things  I took an eternity to find something. Then I saw this adorable little mochi wrapped up in the leaf with a little dried flower on top like a little cute parcel. Yup, that’s the one, I want… but I had to speak to the cashier…
I spent almost 30 mins walking back and forth in the tiny shop trying to gain the courage to say” may I please have 1 Sakura mochi”. But I did it and that sakura mochi was the most delicious thing ever. Was it the mochi or the sweet joy of overcoming a difficult task? Probably the mochi but it definitely made it sweeter. I still struggle ordering but I’ve gotten better and at least I have a story to tell haha.

Sushi Dog Food: chocolate-covered honeycake

Story of Food:
chocolate-covered honeycakes have honestly been a part of my childhood for a really, really long time!
this specific brand, medenka lubimka (in proper bulgarian it's called "меденка любимка") is local to my country (at least im pretty sure that it is) and even since primary school i've been basically obsessed with them. they're literally the best snack money can buy and i won't be hearing any objections hehe
they're also sold for relatively cheap, the equivalent of like 40 cents in dollars. the price hasn't changed for as long as i can remember so i've been constantly looking for loose coins in my wallet to spend on these!
in my primary school, me and my friends used to constantly be late to class because we'd need to go to the nearest supermarket to get the snacks we wanted to eat, which included these honeycakes that i got so often
once i moved to my current school, which is an art school, it basically became an inside joke between me and a part of my class. in other words i'm so captivated by these honey cakes that it's a well known fact in my class lmao
my favorite instances of these are during lunch breaks when i'd constantly ask my classmates to go to the store to buy me some of these, it's not really a big deal but i've always had issues with really fitting in, so i find it a really nice experience to have my peers actually remember things about me like my favorite snack, and both find it funny or even charming that i'm so keen on them!
