Pawty MYO Event

Welcome to the Celebration Pawty MYO Sushi Dog Event!!

Thanks for being interested in our species and event! To celebrate another year of Sushi Dogs we are running a FREE MYO event for all members who have not participated in the past! Please be sure to read the rules carefully before submitting!

Rules & Information

Open to All Members (without a PAW Soosh) | Sep 01 - Sep 30 @ 11:59pm ET

For this event, we are allowing every new user during the month of September to create 1 (one) free Sushi Dog design! This is open to First-Time Owners (FTOs) and long-time members who have not participated in this event in the past!

But here's the catch! We want to hear about a food that means a lot to you and see the Sushi Dog based on it! Sushi Dogs created for this event will be labeled under the "PAW" category rather than MYO (i.e. PAW-001: Mac and Cheese)

Rules

• To participate in this event, you must fill out the form at the bottom of the page. This includes a prompt to write at least 250 words about a type of food that means a lot to you! Once ready, please comment below.

• The Sushi Dog you create must be at least loosely based on the food that you selected to write about!

• All art and design must be completed by the person submitting it if possible. If the user is unfamiliar with the species or not confident in their art, they may request FREE assistance from friends.

• If a correction needs to be made you will be contacted either via reply or Discord if you choose to include it. Pending submissions are valid up to one week after Sep 30 @ 11:59 pm to allow for corrections. You will be notified before the week deadline.

• Any soosh created under this event is LOCKED to your account. This means you cannot trade them, sell them, gift them, or surrender them to the mirror.

• If you decide later you no longer want the design, it must be RETIRED as a Sushi Dog. They will remain on the site after retiring for archival purposes using the "RTD" tag.

• All Sushi Dogs submitted via this event must be ALL STAPLE traits. No items will be allowed to help speed up our approval process. You may apply items later once your design has been approved and registered.

• These rules may be updated later upon community questions and concerns. Please be sure to read through it one last time before submitting your design in case something has changed!

Sushi Dog Food: Cheesy Beans on Toast
Story of Food: Beans on Toast has always been a huge comfort food for me, back when i was like 5 i stayed at my grans for the first time and had it and i think thats what started the obsession..

Ever since i was younger, ive LOVED the food, its been a huge thing for me and my gran would always ask me what i wanted for dinner, and then stop me mid sentence and predictably say 'Beans on Toast' - Now i wasnt so keen on cheese back then, i dont think i was up until about 10? Which is when i'd seen a friend i used to have sleepovers with, put melted cheese inside the beans... And this is where the obsession with cheesy beans began, everytime I'd eat it, my grn would ask 'is this enough cheese' - I'd always reply with 'No' and she'd put so much in i think it was more cheese.. then beans at that point, but thats what i loved about it.

I'm actually lactose intolerant, but due to the amount of comfort this brings me, i suffer through it afterwards because i just.. CAN'T not eat it.

I still eat it like all the time, whenever I'm sad or i just can't be bothered to cook.. Beans on Toast is my go to. I sadly wasnt as close with my gran before she passed away, but she would invite me for dinner occasionally and make the meal just how i always used to love it.

Sushi Dog Food: Caramel Cavoodle Cake
Story of Food:
Caramel Cavoodle Cake holds a very special place in my heart, it was one of the only cakes I ever received for my birthdays, I was 14? My mum had given me $20 to go out and pick a cake for myself and my twins b’day. I spent ages looking at bakeries until I found this cute little cake shaped like a poodle-breed dog hidden in a little off the beaten path bakery. There were several flavors, chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, strawberry, caramel and naturally I had to pick the Caramel as I had never been fond of chocolates and my brother flat out hated them. The cake was so cute I honestly didn’t want to eat it! It reminded me of the two family dogs when they were puppies before their color faded! I remember being so proud of myself, I was able to buy an ice cream with the change for my brother incase he didn’t like the flavor, proudly toting my prizes home, I remember the joy the icecream my brother bought, and the cheer that cake brought home, it was one of my best birthdays! Being surrounded by my family, the dogs & cats making havoc in the house! To this day I have never been able to replicate that cake in my memory nor find a bakery who can. This is a treasured memory not only associated with the food, but one of the few times in a recent history where my family was gathered!

Sushi Dog Food: Chocolate Mousse
Story of Food:
Chocolate Mousse was a staple in my childhood! My parents always used to get the ones you get in yoghurt pots and threw them in my packed lunch for a treat... Always a highlight of it for me! I absolutely love its soft and bubbly texture.

My main reason for choosing this food, though, is that I think it represents a really dear OC to me really well!
Chocolate Mousse is so her, because it's soft, light, sweet and rich like her!

Lailah originally started as a DnD character I made for a campaign that didn't end up working out, but I ended up keeping her and developing her with my friend that was gonna DM it! Making characters in that universe with that friend really meant a lot, and thinking about my silly little guys in my head ended up getting me through some pretty dark times.

I always have brought that group of OCs with me throughout my many little adventures I've had over the years.
Whenever there's a character creator in a game or something like that, I always try to make one of my OCs with it. For a long time I had always used my other DnD OCs for this - my two girls Aerith and Krista who I might make into sooshes in the future. But recently I just keep making Lailah for everything. She was my player character for Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3, and now I'd love to play as her here...

Sushi Dog Food: Mishap Monster Cake

Story of Food: I was initially going to go for a classic favorite food of mine like teriyaki chicken, BUT just a few days ago a photo from years and years ago popped up in my big sister’s Snapchat memories and she sent it to me—the photo is of the cookie cake this soosh is based on. It’s a really cute cake! You see, getting a cookie cake became a tradition that I still hold onto dearly, as it’s a big enough cake to celebrate me, my stepdad, and my twin sister because we all share the same birthday! Over the years we’ve run through the cake designs and even had to repeat one at some point, but the cake for this soosh is Special. I’m used to getting my name misspelled this way and that, but I had never had it happen on a birthday cake, and never this spelling… Anascosia was the birthday girl that year, not me. It was so funny, but after all these years I admit, I forgot about it! I was really excited about the great  timing of seeing that photo again—because clearly this would be perfect for my own personal PAW soosh! Of course, I’m going to name her Anascosia, in honor of the cake’s mistake… She’s also a Cerberus/tri-headed soosh because I’ve always loved them ever since January 2014 when I got my mint choco sundae sushi dog who has been my sort of mascot all these years in the community, and my biased favorite! I plan on making her a sushi cat, and she’ll be my very first sushi cat—it’s only fitting that such a personal design should be my absolutely favorite subtype that I’ve loved all these years. ^_^

hi! this is such a cute soosh, and i can't wait for them to become real! there's one small change you'd need to make before we can upload them--the little monsters on the soosh's back resemble creature companions too closely, so you would need to remove them for the initial upload. you can always submit a design update after this soosh is uploaded and include a potion to add the monsters back! <3

Sushi Dog Food: Lucky Dreamer's Rice

Story of Food:
[Taps mic] Hi welcome to my ted talk.
So. Let’s talk white rice! It’s basic, blank, sort of something intended to be added on to, yeah? People are like, ‘at least put soy sauce on it or something’. But for me, I just like it plain!
Back when I was still in high school, they’d let us go off-campus for lunch, as the building was downtown and surrounded by lots of local places that offered takeout. One of these places had white rice – the really good, restaurant kind.
So, every day for lunch on schooldays, for four years… it was white rice and pepsi! Which does sound a little… concerning in hindsight, but I was a teenager – and I don’t think any teenager makes wise food choices. But it was a routine, and something that sort of became ‘my brand’.

But… why the ‘lucky dreamer’ part? What’s that got to do with anything? I doubt that kind of rice even actually exists.
As said, white rice is sort of a canvas, and I am an artist. Dreams, both during the day and those I have vividly during the night, are of great importance to me! My headworld, which fuels all of my creative work (and has for the past 10 years), is an embodiment of this.
The ‘lucky’ portion is mostly because I’m sorta superstitious, and hold value in good luck charms.

As a final note I couldn’t quite tie in properly to my mini-essay: Rice is also a sort of… bonding point, particularly between me and my grandmother, who is Chinese. My family would often order from a place her father used to own when we’d visit, and we still do! Unfortunately, a variety of factors had led to her having to ‘hide’ her heritage for most of my life – with her only recently starting to share more and more.
So they’re sort of dedicated to her in a way! Purple is her favorite color, too.

I am the lucky dreamer, and this is my rice!
